Item order

Stages top to bottom, items left to right

  1. 1

    Early game

    19,200 Souls

I like to max out the 3 first, but you can always get 2 points into the 1 first to get the most value out of it since you will have rapid recharge.

    1. Golden Goose EggGolden Goose EggNot necessary, but I always like having the egg for the value at 10 minutes (or 30 if you're crazy). Pop it whenever you see fit or before a huge fight.
    2. Restorative ShotRestorative ShotPretty much the best sustain item for Holliday if you can hit shots (adds up more compared to Healing Rite which requires you to pretty much play far too passively for my liking on this character)
    3. Headshot BoosterHeadshot BoosterGood, get Headhunter after.
    4. Extra StaminaExtra StaminaImportant! Get Stamina Mastery as one of your first few semi-major items.
    5. Extra ChargeExtra ChargeGood to have
    6. Sprint BootsSprint Boots
    7. Enduring SpeedEnduring SpeedHelps with movement a little, can build into Juggernaut
    8. HeadhunterHeadhunterPretty much the best Gun item if you can hit shots. Otherwise, why even build into Gun?
    9. Rapid RechargeRapid RechargeI'd say more important than Recharging Rush, but you can get both as it's always nice having options mid-fight. Also really nice for having to upgrade barrels to tier 2, so other skills get maxed 1st.
    10. Stamina MasteryStamina MasteryGenuinely the most important item for roaming and staying alive.
    11. Enchanter's EmblemEnchanter's EmblemGood for extra Spirit damage, Spirit resist, and Ability Cooldown Reduction. Get this or Battle Vest
    12. Battle VestBattle VestMy personal favorite here as it's just extra Gun damage (very obvious why that's good). Get this if lots of Gun damage characters on the enemy team.

    ALT Early Game

    Optional8,800 Souls

Just options for every situation early game, not that important

    1. RebuttalRebuttalMelee heavy lane. Or Viscous. Especially Viscous.
    2. Healing RiteHealing RiteNot my favorite unless your teammate can keep their own for like 10-20 seconds, but you also want to stay in lane somewhat. + Rescue Beam
    3. Monster RoundsMonster RoundsYou have bad waveclear or want to build into Cultist Sacrifice
    4. Rusted BarrelRusted BarrelM1 characters
    5. Mystic BurstMystic BurstVery much a good buy if you want to deal extra damage with barrels (and they have tankier characters), also especially good if you build into Tankbuster
    6. Recharging RushRecharging RushI usually always get this item, as it's cheaper than buying 3 3200 items in a row (technically 2400), but as I said, it's nice.
    7. Slowing HexSlowing HexMobile character buying Slowing Hex against other mobile characters. Funny!
    8. HealbaneHealbaneI have seen something with this item, but personally I don't really see that much value in it unless you manage to hit it every time (anything other than headshots)

  3. 3

    Mid game

    33,600 Souls

A lot of diversity here as you can get literally anything, and as long as you're roaming effectively, you will get value.

    1. Duration ExtenderDuration ExtenderUlt.
    2. Compress CooldownCompress CooldownPut it on Ult.
    3. Glass CannonGlass CannonSomewhat a risky buy if you can't move well on Holliday, but this is the most important item to get so you can stand your own ground.
    4. Superior DurationSuperior DurationLasso. Also Pads.
    5. Superior CooldownSuperior Cooldown
    6. Transcendent CooldownTranscendent CooldownBest if you decide to get items, but good nonetheless.
    7. Burst FireBurst FireIf you can hit every headshot with this while having Skill 3 maxed out, you will shred people. Very good with Dynamo ultimates.
    8. Weakening HeadshotWeakening Headshot
    9. Spirit ResilienceSpirit ResilienceI genuinely prefer getting this after getting Battle Vest because it gives me extra survivability, but doesn't hurt my damage.
    10. Metal SkinMetal SkinM1 characters.
    All item notes
    • Duration Extender — Ult.
    • Compress Cooldown — Put it on Ult.

    ALT Mid Game

    33,600 Souls

Arguably much more important to have options here, as the mid game is the make-or-break point where you either recover or DEFINITELY lose.

    1. DecayDecaySame thought process as Mystic Burst/Tankbuster. Tanky, but also denies healing especially for Shiv mains who deserve the worst <3
    2. KnockdownKnockdownUnsure how useful this will be for you, but very good against *those* characters.
    3. Bullet ResilienceBullet ResilienceJust get Metal Skin. There's many way better items out there, but you shouldn't really be dying anyway?
    4. Cultist SacrificeCultist SacrificeSurprisingly really good statwise
    5. Cursed RelicCursed RelicYou *can* rush this if you're the only one who is capable of switching to a more supportive role.
    6. Greater ExpansionGreater ExpansionBarrels, Ultimate, Items. Only reason to get this.
    7. Guardian WardGuardian Ward
    8. Rescue BeamRescue BeamVery funny outplays *could happen* if you get this item to support your teammates.
    9. Silence WaveSilence WaveIncredible item in a lot of contexts.
    10. TankbusterTankbusterTanky enemies.

  5. 5

    Late game

    57,600 Souls

A lot of different things you can do here, depends mostly on your mid game. Gun has been good? Invest more! Your team has too much Gun? Get Spirit! Want to be more supportive? Go ahead darlin', Lasso them in the air, and I'll shoot 'em down!

    1. Crippling HeadshotCrippling HeadshotHEADSHOT FOREVER. 100% get this if you can aim.
    2. JuggernautJuggernautGood Green to invest into for many reasons, but mainly nice to have extra in that category
    3. RicochetRicochetHeadshots in a teamfight? Hell yeah!
    4. FrenzyFrenzyQuite an interesting item as it's mainly defensive buffs, but fire rate is always good.
    5. Vortex WebVortex WebA lot of playmaking here is possible.
    6. UnstoppableUnstoppableEither you are getting stunned out of the air, need to play aggressive for Lasso, or you see potential playmaking situations (mid boss?)
    7. Diviner's KevlarDiviner's KevlarExtra good with Unstoppable in those certain situations.
    8. Cheat DeathCheat DeathUnsure how good this will be for you, but possibilities are always endless.
    9. SpellslingerSpellslingerPerhaps a bit more optional, but ACR and Fire Rate is always good (also reload time).

    ALT Late Game

    54,400 Souls

A lot of "what if's" over here, but the options are still good to have

    1. Divine BarrierDivine BarrierPretty much get this instead of Counterspell or Dispel Magic if you see it having a lot of value not just for yourself, but your teammates too. Consider Rescue Beam.
    2. SpellbreakerSpellbreakerSpirit Res is not enough.
    3. WitchmailWitchmailYou still need Spirit resistance AND you play a bit closer to enemies/they have so much Spirit damage.
    4. Lucky ShotLucky ShotMore niche Gun item, but if you want pure gun damage, sure.
    5. Hollow PointHollow PointGun damage, funny!
    6. SharpshooterSharpshooterSilly item as it makes your gun damage particularly nasty from longer ranges which, in turn, makes your headshots even more potent if you can hit them from that far away.
    7. Surge of PowerSurge of PowerBuy this if you wanna switch to Spirit damage and you think about getting the two items to the right of it.
    8. Boundless SpiritBoundless SpiritSpirit item that just deals a lot of damage, but probably not that useful
    9. Spirit BurnSpirit BurnSell Healbane for this, but only buy it if you are more Spirit-heavy (as you do need 2 barrels to proc it)
    10. ScourgeScourgePut it on a melee character or something, good if you wanna support
